Red Heat

Arnold Schwarzeneggar (Terminator) stars in this interesting film early in his career as Ivan Danko, one of the top Russian Police Officers, who is sent to America to return an extradited Drug Dealer. Unfortunately, he escapes and kills a cop in the process, similar to his killing one of Ivan’s friends in Russia.
Now, in order to track him down, Ivan is paired with Art (John Belushi, Blues Brothers 2000), a slacker pervert fat cop, who is far to smart-mouthed for his own good.

Together the two track down the drug dealer and enter a complex game of cat and mouse with a black drug cartel lead by a blind political fanatic. It gets pretty heavy and the violence is pretty raw, but it makes for a fun piece, and is a cool peak at culture surrounding the Cold War, when it was absurd to see Russians and Americans cooperating at all. Arnold’s accent does well in the role, as well. I give it a 2.
