Bulletproof Monk

It’s a classic and cheesy kung fu movie. A monk with no name (Chou Yung Phat, The Replacement Killers) is set aside to protect a scroll that, if read, could destroy the world. He is chosen for this task during WW2 just as Nazi’s come in search of the scroll to use as a weapon.
Flash forward 60 years, and The monk is still running from the nazi’s, and attempting to find a suitor to pass the scroll off to. That’s when he runs into Kar (Sean William Scott, Old School) Orphaned and no good, Kar works at a Chinese theater where he also lives, running movies in exchange for rent. During the daytime, he hustles in the NY city subway system.

It is here that he encounters Monk, and here he also meets Jade (Jamie King) who he of course falls in love with. The monk needs their help to get away from the Nazi’s and save the shaolin monks. It’s a fantastic tour of New York, the gangs, and the kung fu and everything is so wonderful. Great, cheeseball, funny, a little too intense in a couple moments, but for what it’s worth, it’s a 2.
