We
trail the team from his selection as coach to the team being hand picked by
him, and then the rigorous training, the endless conditioning sets, the fierce
drills, and the bonding as teammates. They truly come alive as a family and
fight all the odds to rock the world and the odds makers as they excel to the
top of the Olympic tournament.
Russell
turns in an amazing performance and is surrounded by a cast of Minor League Hockey
Players who put the action together, and blend the characters magnificently.
The best part is the aspect of realism. In Remember the Titans, yeah, it’s
based on a true story, but not everything in it actually happened. Here, they
use the original telecasts to tell of the action of each game and real life
stories from the ascent of the 1980 team, weaving the perfect mix of ralism and
story writing.
This
is a definite 2 and probably worth owning.
